Share the Love Scholarship: Helping Sing Out Detroit Members Thrive

Michael J. Phillips was a beloved member of Sing Out Detroit Chorus.  He was our artistic director and responsible for creating our beautiful sets for many seasons.  Michael passed away on August 12, 2015 just before the start of our fall season.

Marjo Rogers was larger than life and many of you will remember her in the front row putting everything into her performance in her shades and hats and dressed to the nines. She left us March, 2024.

Honor Our Legacy: Support the Sing Out Detroit Scholarship Fund

In memory of our cherished members Michael Phillips, Marjo Rogers, Frank Perkins, Marie Hellner, and Theresa Coon, we have established the Sing Out Detroit Scholarship Fund. This fund helps offset the costs of membership dues for students, seniors, and others who may need financial assistance to join our choir.

How You Can Help:

  • Contribute to the Scholarship Fund
Your donation will directly support individuals who wish to be part of our musical family but may face financial barriers. Membership is $100 per season, but you can choose any amount that works for you to contribute to this cause.
  • Support Our Mission
Sing Out Detroit is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Your contributions help us purchase music, secure rehearsal spaces, book performance venues, and hire musicians. Every dollar makes a difference in our ability to continue spreading joy and fostering community through music.

Why Your Support Matters:

We deeply appreciate the ongoing support from our patrons, members, and their families. Your generosity allows us to honor the legacy of those we’ve lost and ensure that everyone has the opportunity to be part of Sing Out Detroit, regardless of their financial situation.

Thank you for helping us continue our mission of creating an inclusive and harmonious community through song.
